The first central theme of scientific development concept is development, the core of which is people oriented, and the basic requirement is comprehensive coordination with sustainability, using basic method of proper planning with overall consideration. Understanding the meaning of scientific development concept is vitally important to us in building up our consciousness and determination to implement scientific development concept, and consciously turn the demand for scientific development concept into practical capability in works.
The core phrase of scientific development concept is development, and it must be scientifically developed. Any development that is not people oriented is not scientific development, comprehensive development, coordinated development or sustainable development, and is not scientific development too. Taking education as an example, is quality of education required? Definitely, quality of education is the lifeline of a school, but how you improve the quality of education is a research topic, and to pay the price of sacrificing the students’ rest hours or even their bodies and minds in exchange for a little advancement is unacceptable. The education provided by some of those schools that are concerned only with their own interest without thinking about the future of the students, is of course not scientific. The "happy project" that is being implemented in our city is to let teachers and students live and study together happily. Czech educationalist, Johann Amos Comenius pointed out in “Major Teaching Theory” that, ”A school itself should be a delightful place, where students find happiness." To make students happy, teachers must first be happy; only happy teachers can bring about happy education. Therefore teachers should experience their happiness in life from the ordinary teaching post, taste happiness in life, and acquire the inner satisfaction from the giving and paying. The happiness of teachers is a reflection of their value of life, and the appeal of their professional integrity. This educationalist rightly said, “Happiness is a virtue”, without which how pale and tedious would education be? How do we carry on achieving the high quality? Therefore, the educational ideal that we seek is the ideal education, ideal classrooms – low cost and high benefits. This is scientific development.
We should have more concerns for others in normal life, and must also have self-respect for ourselves; have respect for work, and take care of our health. In order to have progress for others, you must make progress first, and do not slacken your own studies, as you will have confidence only if you have the foundation. In order to work with vigor, you must first have a healthy body, if your body is wrecked everything is finished. Teachers with good health can ensure that they can work vigorously every day in conveying knowledge, teaching, and disabusing. As for the teachers themselves, they should have the healthy concept of “Exercise one hour every day, work healthily for 50 years, and live happily for the whole life.” A healthy body will lead to good mood, and with good mood one can work happily. I do not appreciate people going to work with illness. You must see a doctor if you are ill; and don’t think that without you for a moment the globe would stop revolving. You might seem very dedicated by going to work with illness without seeing a doctor, but actually the loss outweighs the gain, as you are being unreasonable to yourself, your family and the community. With an indisposition becoming serious disease, can you still provide service to the students? Wouldn’t you encumber your family if you stayed in the hospital? The medical fees would be far more than the amount that would have originally been. See a doctor when you are ill, do more exercises in normal life, and with a healthy body, you can work better. This is also scientific development.
Treat work and life with scientific perspective: With everything people oriented, proper planning with overall consideration, and comprehensive coordination with sustainability. Development is needed, but must be scientifically developed.
