华硕（Asus）的竹质外壳笔记本于上月低正式发布，事实上这个设计已经是很早的事了（去年），在一些展会上能够看到，但还是落在了 Dell Studio Hybrid 的后面，或许后者也是其发布的原因之一？
ASUS Bamboo Series notebook 采用艺术品等级的Moso竹子，竹子材料带来良好的触觉感受以及审美体验，温和自然，而且每一台都是独一无二的。共有两种规格，12.1英寸的重1.57kg，11.1英寸的重1.25kg，处理器都为酷睿2双核。同时也有ASUS的节能技术 Super Hybrid Engine technology，使用这种技术的笔记本可以比同配置的笔记本电池时间延长 35% 到 70%，同时系统性能提高23%，一年的二氧化碳释放量每台减少12.3kg。
我觉得竹子材料应用在平坦的表面上并没有很好的美感体验，可以对比一下 Dell Studio Hybrid ，因为竹子本身的质感并不像一些高级木材一样带来一种品质感，这其中与材料本身的肌理特性还有和竹子的高成长性也有关，所以一旦使用在大平面上就和一些贴纸的感觉一样，当然使用在其他产品上比如家具会略有不同，但品质感依然是无法超越它的触觉体验以及柔韧性，作为笔记本相对于 warm 人们现在还是喜欢cool。当然作为 Asus 绿色理念的宣传是很不错的，另外可能一些结构工艺也让人感兴趣（如果不是简单的镶嵌）。

ASUS Bamboo Series Notebook Revealed
Asus Bamboo Series notebook computer was officially announced at the end of last month. Such design came under the limelight in the previous year as it was displayed in several shows. The belated announcement this time comes after the first debut of its bamboo counterpart, Dell Studio Hybrid which itself may be serving as a catalyst for the ASUS Bamboo.
ASUS Bamboo Series notebook boasts a premium-Moso-bamboo casing which is said to bring its users fantastic touching and feeling experience apart from its model-specific uniqueness. ASUS Bamboo Series notebook comes with two different configurations: the one equipped with a 12.1-inch-sized screen or the other with an 11.1-inch-sized screen at the weight of 1.57kg and 1.25kg respectively. Both models are based on Intel Core 2 Duo processer and feature ASUS's Super Hybrid Engine Technology, a power-saving technology which enables a 35% to 70% better battery-life experience and a 23% boost of system performance in contrast of other models under the same configuration. This technology also helps reducing 12.3kg of carbon dioxide emission every year.
In my eyes, adopting bamboo material as flat finish on the computer would not provide enough aesthetical satisfaction , which is also the case of Dell Studio Hybrid. The reason behind it may be that the bamboo surface cannot produce a feeling smooth enough as the way other top-quality wood material does. It also has something to do with the mechanism of human skin and bamboo's way of growing. Thus the feeling of touching flat bamboo surface is no better than scrubbing low-quality finish. But from the other way around, I still believe bamboo surface will make a difference when it comes to home furniture, though it still won't feel as elegant as what of other higher-quality material in terms of feeling and smoothness. In general, ASUS Bamboo Series notebook is not yet cool enough to impress the trendy people nowadays as a laptop computer, but it may still be a little eye-catching as an showcase of ASUS's awareness of environmental protection. And it is also likely to intrigue the industry if there are some ingenious structural techniques in it.
